StarMed respiratory products for use with COVID-19 patients

Respiratory hoods have been identified as an optimal tool for treating COVID-19 patients, thanks to the interface's superior comfort and the semi-closed environment design, providing an advantage to the patient and caregivers.

As the pandemic continues to put global healthcare systems under a lot of strain and the usual therapy equipment and personnel may not be available, we have developed kits that include CaStar hoods along with a number of accessories for different configurations.

The kits have been widely appreciated by end users because of their simplicity and flexibility of therapy activation. Two new information sheets and a new video have been produced to explain the various configurations available for each kit.

To help you easily locate all StarMed products suitable for the treatment with COVID-19 patients, including the kits, we have produced a new website page found under the Critical Care group.

You can view the full StarMed range on the dedicated website page, and read clinical evidence on the range on our online database and for further information please make an enquiry.

i-gel® O2 Resus Pack for emergency medicine

The Resus Pack contains everything you need to prepare, insert and secure the i-gel® O2 quickly and efficiently: an i-gel® O2 supraglottic airway, a sachet of lubricant, airway support strap and a gastric tube.

The i-gel® O2 has the same features and benefits as the standard device, but also incorporates a supplementary oxygen port and an integral hook ring for securing of the airway support strap. It has been designed to facilitate ventilation as part of standard resuscitation protocols, such as those designated by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the American Heart Association (AHA). However, the i-gel® O2 incorporates a supplementary oxygen port, so can also be used for the delivery of passive oxygenation, or Passive Airway Management (PAM™), as part of an appropriate Cardio Cerebral Resuscitation (CCR) protocol.

Available in three adult sizes, the i-gel® O2 has a colour coded hook ring to allow quick and easy identification.

You can watch detailed videos and access downloads on the dedicated i-gel® website, through the Education page and on the product page. There is also now extensive clinical evidence available on the use of i-gel® in a resuscitation, emergency medicine, or prehospital setting, which you can read in our latest evidence bibliography, or on the online database.

Please contact us to make an enquiry.
